jessica & andrew // a goldbug island wedding in charleston, sc
.
I believe in memories
They look so, so pretty when I sleep
Hey now, and when I wake up,
You look so pretty sleeping next to me
But there is not enough time,
And there is no, no song I could sing
And there is no combination of words I could say
But I will still tell you one thing
We're better together.
-'Better Together' by Jack Johnson

And so I'm sailing through the sea
To an island where we'll meet
You'll hear the music fill the air
I'll put a flower in your hair
Though the breezes through the trees
Move so pretty you're all I see
As the world keeps spinning round
You hold me right here right now

Braddock // A Newborn Session
.

Guess who is back on the blog! Lindsay and Jim welcomed their beautiful baby boy Braddock earlier this year. I visited with them in their home and got to meet and photograph this handsome baby boy. And how cute is his baseball themed nursery?! I can't wait to see this little man grow up! Congrats Lindsay & Jim!
Enjoy!!
Mara & Charles // A Historic Charleston Engagement Session
.

Every time I photograph a session in Downtown Charleston, I see another beautiful part of the city that I never noticed before. Charleston really is one of the most beautiful and romantic cities to photograph. With it's seemingly endless amount of tree-lined streets, brightly painted window shutters, patina textured walls and secret pathways, romance is all around.
Mara and Charles are a super cute and super sweet couple and it was so easy to photograph them as we wandered the streets of Charleston. I loved getting to know them better as we chatted between photos. Their engagement session was just a few weeks before their September wedding and I can't wait to share photos of the big day soon!
Enjoy!!

I don't dance, But here I am
Spinning you round and round in circles
It Ain't my style, but I don't care
I'd do anything with you anywhere
Guess you got me in the palm of your hand
Cause, I don't dance
-'I Don't Dance' by Lee Brice
The beach will always be a destination - for travelers, for families and for lovers. At the beach, time moves slower, food tastes sweeter, and memories last a lifetime. It's no wonder so many of my brides and grooms come to the beach to celebrate their union.
Kelly and Brent traveled from North Carolina to be married on the beach, surrounded by their closest family and friends on a gorgeous day in May. Kelly is one of the most genuine and sweetest people I have ever met and it was so obvious that she is loved dearly by her family and friends. All her sweet girlfriends kept dropping by the hotel room to say hello and catch a glimpse of her before the ceremony. Her adorable niece and nephew stole the show with their playful cuteness. But nothing could compare to the gorgeous bride in her striking Kelly Faetanini dress. I'm sure Brent thought the same as he watch Kelly walk down the beach towards him. There was nothing but smiles.
After their ceremony, Kelly and Brent boarded the Fate sailboat for a dreamy sunset cruise on Charleston Harbor. The sailboat cruise was so special for them because it is the same boat they sailed on the weekend they were engaged in Charleston! This classy couple rocked all of their portraits on the boat and made my job effortless.
The rest of the evening was spent laughing, dancing and making memories with all those who came to celebrate with the bride and groom in Charleston. I was so happy to be a part of this wonderful celebration. Thank you Kelly and Brent!! :)
Special thanks to my second photographer Jen Baltgalvis for all of her hard work!

Baby
We've come a long way
And baby
You know I hope and I pray
That you believe me
When I say this love will never fade away
Oh, because
You are the best thing
You are the best thing
You are the best thing
Ever happened to me
- "You Are The Best Thing" Ray Lamontagne
I was so excited to be a part of Jessica and Chris’ spring wedding earlier this year. I photographed Jessica as a beautiful bride at her bridal session and I could not wait for Chris to see her on the wedding day!
Their wedding day was full with family and friends, love and smiles. The ceremony was held at Lutheran Church of the Redeemer and afterwards, the couple and the wedding party made their way downtown for portraits on the beautiful historics streets of Charleston. The celebration continued at Society Hall in true southern style. Jessica and Chris were announced as husband a wife and wowed us all with a beautifully choreographed dance, complete with a twirling bride and swooning dip. As the sun set on a beautiful Charleston evening, delicious food was shared, loving words were spoken and kisses were stolen on the dance floor. After a night of memories created, Jessica and Chris bid farewell to their guests and depart via one of my favorite Charleston getaways - a wedding day pedicab! Thanks so much to the fantastic couple for allowing me to celebrate this amazing day with them and their families and friends.
Special thanks to my second photographer Jen Baltgalvis for all of her hard work!
