Bree and Rob // A Charleston Portrait Session in Hampton Park

.

I have photographed at many locations around Charleston, but somehow, I have never done a session in Hampton Park.  It's such an amazing place!  There are big oak and magnolia trees, beautiful blooming flowers, winding pathways lined with branches dripping in spanish moss…  basically, the epitome of a Charleston park.

I am so glad that Bree and Rob choose the park for their couple session this summer.  They wanted to have some portraits done just for fun, and to have some fresh photos of just the two of them.  Bree is a friend of mine from the days of high school, and this was the first time I was able to meet her husband Rob.  They are so great together!  They made each other laugh and smile the entire time.  I really enjoyed photographing them having fun and being sweet!

Thanks Bree and Rob for our awesome session!

Alicia and Rob // A Cottages on Charleston Harbor Wedding

.

Alicia and Rob are one of the most laid-back couples I have worked with.  Not only were they super fun during their bicycle engagement session, but they kept their cool even when a crazy storm blew through town on their wedding weekend!  Strong wind gusts and intermittent rain all day long didn't change the fact that this couple was so excited to get married.

Alicia and Rob celebrated their wedding day at The Cottages on Charleston Harbor, an amazing, quaint location, tucked away at Patriots Point and right on the edge of Charleston Harbor.  The ten private cottages that meander through the marsh and trees created a private escape for the wedding day festivities.  The couple celebrated with close friends before the ceremony with separate his and her cocktail hours in different cottages.  And three of the cottages served as the perfect backdrop for Alicia being escorted by her father to the ceremony on the sandy harbor-front beach.  The rain held off and even the sun popped out while Alicia and Rob said 'I do' to each other in front of family and friends.

Despite the weather, the celebration continued into the night.  Satin Finish made the dance floor was the place to be, especially when Rob decided to serenade his new bride not once, but twice from the stage.  When the night ended, the happy couple said farewell to all who celebrated with them with one last dance out of the tent and into the raindrops of the night.

Thanks to Alicia and Rob and their families for letting me be a part of their special day!  And thanks to all the amazing vendors for helping create such a beautiful event!

Enjoy!!

Laura and Shane // A Charleston Waterfront Park Wedding

.

One of the most enjoyable aspects of being a wedding photographer is experiencing the individuality of every bride and groom I work with.  Each couple has a different vision for their wedding day, and each wedding is special.

Laura and Shane's vision for their wedding day was intimate and sweet.  The couple was joined by their parents, siblings and two close friends to celebrate their union which took place on the pier at Waterfront Park in Charleston overlooking Charleston Harbor.  Sailboats past behind the couple as they said their vows in front of their loved ones and a few charmed bystanders.

After their ceremony, we walked the beautiful streets of downtown Charleston capturing fun, relaxed portraits of just Laura and Shane.  It was so great to be photographing a couple so happy to have just tied the knot.  I think it shows in every photo!

We finished our portraits at High Cotton Restaurant where Laura and Shane continued their night of celebrating with family and friends.

Congratulations to the happy couple!  Thanks so much for letting me be part of your special day Laura and Shane!

Enjoy!!

Erin // A Greenville Bridal Session at Larkins on the River

.

Erin was a beautiful bride on April 27th and now that she and Erik are married, I get to share her lovely bridal portraits!  We photographed her bridal portraits at their wedding venue, Larkins on the River in Greenville, SC.  I loved the beautiful textures we found in the brick walls.  And the trees were blossoming perfectly for us!

Congrats to Erin and Erik and I can't wait to share their wedding photos in a few weeks.

Alicia and Rob // A Historic Downtown Charleston Engagement Session

.

Spring is just about here and that means it is time to start having fun outdoors!  Alicia and Rob decided that's what they wanted to do for their Charleston engagement session.  They brought their bikes downtown and we cruised through the streets near The Battery.

Alicia and Rob have so much fun together and I can tell they make each other laugh, every day.  :)  I can't wait to photograph their wedding this May!

Lindsay and Jim // A Historic Downtown Charleston Engagement Session

.

Lindsay and Jim are a super fun couple who had so many great ideas for their engagement session.  They knew they wanted historic downtown Charleston to be a part of their session and also to incorporate their love of food and cooking.  So we decided to make a day of it, kind of like an adventure.

Our session started downtown near The Battery.  Jim spotted an amazing gingko tree with its golden yellow leaves scattered on the ground.  Playing in the leaves really set the tone for the rest of our session!  We made our way through the brick side streets and alleys near The Battery photographing all things 'Charleston.'  I even had them duck into some of my favorite 'secret' spots for a bit of romantic whimsy.

Next we made out way to the Saturday Farmers Market at Marion Square.  There, Lindsay and Jim shopped for fruits, veggies, kettle popcorn and fresh pasta to cook with later that day.  They even enjoyed an impromptu picnic in the park with their market finds.

We ended the day with Lindsay and Jim enjoying a sunset on the beach at Sullivan's Island.  They brought a picnic of homemade treats prepared from their market finds and their kitchen.  Bundled up for the cool weather and sipping on warm cider, they watched the sunset in each others arms.  Such a wonderful day for love!

I really enjoyed Lindsay and Jim's 'adventure' engagement session - It was a great day with a wonderfully thoughtful and creative couple!

Enjoy!!
