Lauren & Tanner // A Charleston Wedding at The Cottage on the Creek
.

I could hold you in my arms
I could hold you forever
I could hold you in my arms
I could hold you in my arms forever
-Ray Lamontagne, "Hold You In My Arms"
Summer can be such a fun time for weddings in the Lowcountry. Hot days turn into warm nights and everyone seems to celebrate with a little less inhibition in the summer heat, especially when the wedding is a destination celebration for most everyone attending!
I meet Lauren and Tanner for the first time at Magnolia's Restaurant in downtown Charleston. We met early before their rehearsal dinner to have a Day-Before portrait session along Charleston's beautiful historic streets. The gorgeous couple fit seamlessly into the backdrop of late summer warm light and historic charm. It was such a fun way to get to know them better before the wedding day!
The wedding day was just as wonderful. The bride and groom and their wedding party stayed beachfront on Sullivan's Island and got in their share of beach time the morning of the wedding. Sun-kissed skin and a beach vibes set the tone for the wedding day as the wedding party changed from swimsuits to soiree style.
When Lauren and Tanner came together for their first look outside, I knew this day was going to be special. So much love and affection were shared between them both, I couldn't help but smile and swoon. Their ceremony was beautiful, waterfront and sunlit, and full of love and laughter as the the couple spoke their vows.
The entire celebration was so full of life and love from toasts given by their loved ones, and the happy family and friends who traveled to be with the couple, the most energy than I've ever experienced on the dance floor! When the night was over, Lauren and Tanner walked down the dock, through the cheers from the people they love most, and departed on to a romantic boat ride for two into Shem Creek. Such a perfect ending to a sweet summer wedding.
Many thanks to all those who helped make Lauren and Tanner's wedding day unforgettable.

The Preachers // A Sullivans Island Family Session
.
Who doesn't love photos on the beach at sunset? Check out the amazing lighting we had for The Preacher Family's session on the beach a few weeks ago. I love the photos of the boys playing with Alison and her Mom on the beach after sunset. Bryson and Wilkes are two seriously cute kiddos!
Thanks Alison and Bryan for our session!
Enjoy!!

Lindsay and Jim // A Historic Downtown Charleston Engagement Session
.
Lindsay and Jim are a super fun couple who had so many great ideas for their engagement session. They knew they wanted historic downtown Charleston to be a part of their session and also to incorporate their love of food and cooking. So we decided to make a day of it, kind of like an adventure.
Our session started downtown near The Battery. Jim spotted an amazing gingko tree with its golden yellow leaves scattered on the ground. Playing in the leaves really set the tone for the rest of our session! We made our way through the brick side streets and alleys near The Battery photographing all things 'Charleston.' I even had them duck into some of my favorite 'secret' spots for a bit of romantic whimsy.
Next we made out way to the Saturday Farmers Market at Marion Square. There, Lindsay and Jim shopped for fruits, veggies, kettle popcorn and fresh pasta to cook with later that day. They even enjoyed an impromptu picnic in the park with their market finds.
We ended the day with Lindsay and Jim enjoying a sunset on the beach at Sullivan's Island. They brought a picnic of homemade treats prepared from their market finds and their kitchen. Bundled up for the cool weather and sipping on warm cider, they watched the sunset in each others arms. Such a wonderful day for love!
I really enjoyed Lindsay and Jim's 'adventure' engagement session - It was a great day with a wonderfully thoughtful and creative couple!
Enjoy!!
